Hello my name is Courtney Norman, and no I do not think that the music and art program should be cut. In my opinion it should be kept.I myself am a student who has a passion for music, and if you cut it then what will take its place? If you didn't know , music and art is actually fundamental. It helps allot of students to better themselves.
The music and art programs should be kept in the school for many reason. Many students depend on art and music to express themselves. Students use them to express how they really feel when no one listens.Through, music and art students show others how they feel; they also show themselves through it, and by that mean who they really are.
Music and arts was a way out for some kids. Kids who were troubled and doing the wrong thing turned to music and art to better themselves. The kids excel too higher level through their music and art. Through their music and art some have received scholarships to some of the best schools. Others, have been signed by record labels; and had their work displayed in museums!
Not only do the student achieve greatness, but so does the school. The schools will be recognized for bringing the art and music out of the students and for their support. What school wouldn't love to say that a famous artist came from their school?Have you ever though of other ways to prevent from eliminating the art and music program? Maybe you could fund raise, or have a benefit show; where the art students work will be displayed, and kids will perform their music. You can even sell the painting to the highest seller.
In closing, all I ask is that you reconsider your decision. Like I have stated in the beginning, if you really think about it;art and music is really fundamental. The decision of cutting the program will not only affect the students, but the school as well. Would you rather have just eliminate the program, and have to deal with the issues because of the decision; or try to find ways to keep the program in the...
