In light of the new merger between InterClean and EnviroTech and our new full-service cleaning solutions for health care industries, the job analysis for my Sales Managers would be prospecting, cold calling and setting appointments with prospects. They will also be the people that the Outside Sales Representatives will report back too. The job analysis for the Outside Sales Representatives would include, presenting programs, marketing essential products and services to top-level decision makers, development of new business, following up leads given to them by the Sales Managers, conducting demonstrations to the clients, closing deals, and establishing long-term business relationships. Outside Sales Representatives may also transport samples of products for presentations. The pay for both positions would be salary based, however, the Outside Sales Representative would have a bonus potential for each deal they close and any new product they sell to their current clients. Obviously, the Sales Managers’ salaries would be slightly higher than the Sales Representatives.
Workforce Planning is described as “having the right people at the right place, at the right time, with the right skills and competencies to achieve the objectives of the enterprise at the right price”. (Bechet, 2004). This definition would indicate to me that recruitment and staffing is the essential key in proper workforce planning. Therefore, the job analysis as well as the selection method for choosing the employees for that job are extremely important.
“The key to workforce planning is to start with the long-term vision of the organization and its future business goals, and work back from there.” (Hansen, 2008) That being said, my worforce plan would start with stating the future goals of the company.
