Introduction
There are several kinds of workgroups. Each of them has unique structure, advantages, disadvantages and different ways of team management. Since the work or task varies a lot, forming workgroups in a proper way is very important to the implement of the work or the task. In this essay, there is a specific case about finishing a comic strip. Students are organized in two different ways to complete this task. One way is that students could be organized as they would like. The other way is to assign them into the workgroups with distinct “creative role”. These two ways will be analyzed and evaluated according to the situation of the task and related theories. Firstly, it will make some description about the task and the two types of workgroups. Following this, it will analyze the two types of workgroups separately according to the situation. Then, it will make choice on the proper type of workgroup for this task and give clear reasons.

In this essay, the specific task is to create a creative comic strip by team. There are two important features about the task. One is that it is a creative job, which might involve in a lot of discussion and brainstorms. The other one is that it is teamwork, which is to say the members of the team must cooperate with the others in certain way. In order to choose the right type of the workgroup, it is important to analyze the work environment of the task firstly. According to the structural contingency theory, work environment will bring obvious effect to the task (Hollenbeck, Moon, Ellis, West and llgen, 2002).
Generally speaking, the environment could be divided into two types, the placid environment and the turbulent one (Donaldson, 1987).
