World House


In reading the “World House,” Dr. Martin Luther King speaks of a paramount need to dismantle our antiquated ideology, which has resulted in decades of force and human suffering by any means necessary without compassion for mankind. He believes this would help us to cohabitate more cohesively, effectively changing the current international circumstances. We as a nation need to put our actions in our words and relinquish our complacency stance. It only takes one to create a domino theory effect that can ripple through the word house enabling us to come together unified and collaboratively.
Dr. King calls upon “us” to strip our thoughts of social demographics, economical standings and religious ideology. We need to think of others as individuals with their own thoughts and belief’s; furthermore enabling us to coexist in a more peaceful environment. Greed and one’s lack of moral compass has been known to have a corrosive effect on many resulting in one-sided thinking; this has in fact created an out of control competition without compassion for others, as basic human beings. If we keep traveling down this same methodology, we as a world house will surely destroy each other by the misuse of morals and ethics as they stand today. Instead, we must look out for our self in conjunction with “our house.”
Forcible methods and human suffering at the hands of the wealthiest and most powerful organizations is of the upmost importance to eradicate along with drastically decreasing the enormous importance one places on things. Transferring this importance back into the people can effectively turn the tide of unfair treatment thus allowing forward thinking to instill the spirit of compassion and peace. King also suggests that procedures be put into play to rid us of impoverished nations and implement means in which everyone can provide for their family.
