Writing Assignment # 2
Long time friend and fellow surfer Tony, is visiting the best island on the Caribbean that makes of me the man that I am right now, Puerto Rico. Tony called last week for some advice in what places to visit avoiding tourist traps and making his budget more worth it on his very deserved vacations. I am working in some logistic so Tony can explore places that are not on the typical tourist guides.
On the west side of the island is this guesthouse called Parador Bahia Salinas, this is within close proximity of Combate Beach and Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge. Cristal clear beaches, palm trees that give great shadows so Tony enjoys the breeze. Local crafters, willing to work by order for desired pieces.
Tony can visit Adjuntas, is a mountain town in the Cordillera Central Mountain Range. It has a lovely cool climate and places to stay on your journey through the mountains. This place Adjuntas is one of the easier mountain towns to reach due to the new road number 10 that starts in Ponce and goes to Arecibo (except for one stretch). There are several places to stay the night.
Also to Rincon being a surfers and hippy hangout since the 50's and 60's but has now entered the “Tourist World” with many, many new hotels and guesthouses being built. It is still a little bit of a cultural experience to visit Rincon and hangout, but this uniqueness is fading as the big bucks move in. You cannot count on swimming in the ocean in Rincon in the winter, as the ocean is often pretty rough there, most lodging has a pool. There will always be surfers here waiting for the big ones.
Tony’s vacations will be a great success, covering all the parameters during his trip. Enjoying at the max of the ability the stay at the gorgeous island of Puerto Rico.
