XBOX360 vs. SONY PLAYSTATION 3 In this world of high tech gaming, two consoles are above the others; Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s Playstation 3. Both consoles put out an amazing graphics and have awesome features. Only one of these consoles can be considered best of the best. The Playstation 3 is by far the superior console with its Blu-ray integration and amazing cell processor. The Xbox has a Xenon processor which is used in most standard computers to maintain its processes. Xenon processors are only a step up from basic home processors. They provide good computing power but just not good enough to comparison with PS3. The Playstation 3 uses a state of the art cell processor. These processors have an enormous amounts of computing power. Cell processors are used in other computers to maintain huge amount of information coming for massive multiplayer online games, such as World of Warcraft. PS3 has also far better capabilities than that of Xbox. Xbox uses out –dated HDDVD technology. These discs are only slighter larger than standard compact discs. Production of HDDVD was stopped 2 years ago after Toshiba announced its switch to Blu-ray, which was its only rival. HDDVD can only hold up to 20 gigabytes of data, which is far less than Blu-ray. It had crashed the HDDVD as a potential rival. The Playstation 3 supports Blu-ray disc technology. Blu-ray are the newest form of storing data. Its name comes from the color of the laser these discs use to store data. These discs can hold up to and amazing 400 gigabytes of data with its 16 data layers. Blu-ray is now the main provider for movies and video games. With Blu-ray integration, Playstation is the leader in technology support and move selection.
