The mass media industry uses Wiki to provide information about people, places, etc. that is available for anyone to read. It is use more as a guide in learning about your favorite celebrity, or just obtaining information quick about anything. The only think that is an advantage of Wiki is that it in most cases give accurate information. However, the disadvantages are that anyone can edit any information on Wiki. Therefore sometimes the information that is being presented may only be accurate on the last update date. I have asked most people in the public how do they feel about using Wiki, and their responses varied. Most people like professors, or teachers doesn’t want the college student to use Wiki, because to them Wiki is someone else’s work. Wiki seems to have a both positive and negative response in the public’s eye. There are a lot of people that are on Wiki, that are celebrities that has complained about some of the information that is on there about them. Others tend to use Wiki just for entertainment, and not just for work. Wiki is something that we must be careful how we use it, because being that Wiki is edited by anyone, it is actually considered to be someone else’s work. Even though throughout the use of Wiki information is being updated, but Wiki to me and some other people is not a reliable source. In most cases Wiki can be used as a guide for someone to use it to find other information that is reliable.
The mass media industry uses Twitter to follow the world. Most celebrities have a twitter account, and most of all cable network providers do to. Twitter has become very popular because of its rich source of instantly updated information.
