It was an early warm summer day in Seattle, Washington when I was heading to my first day of my new job. The company that hired me was Delta Marine, they build large custom yachts. All my other jobs in my life I never done anything like this. As I was driving to my new job, I could not help but to think about it and the interview that I had a week ago. It was one of my best interviews. At the same time I was wondering, “What I will be building and if I will do a good job?” When I had the interview last week, I did not get to see the inside the warehouses. Most of the time I would be shown around. In the interview, they were asked me many questions about my background and the type jobs I held in the past. I built custom cabinet for fancy cabinet company, and I believed this is why I got this job at Delta Marine.
After I parked my car, I started walking to the office building, and I could see a tall building to the right. I never worked in a building this big before. This building was huge; it looked to be six stories tall and three by three football fields’ width and length. The building had a huge door that looked to be the whole front of outside wall. The door had sections when it opened one section of door would move on to the next section and the next section would move onto the next one and so on. The door reached up to the top of the building stopping only a few feet from the top of the building, and it was as wide as the building. I thought to him that yachts would be built in the building; the building sure was big enough to build a big yacht.
I walked inside the office building and saw a lady behind the front desk. She was organizing papers. “Good morning.” I said with a smile. “May I help you?” she asked. “Yes, my name is Jason and it’s my first day at work.” She picked up a stack of papers off from her desk and directed me to follow her.
