Realize Your Own Method
There are many ways a teacher can teach a student in a classroom. Today I am going to talk about how Paulo Freire states his points of view on how teachers should teach.In Freire’s essay “Banking Concept of Education” he introduced two methods of teaching -The banking education and the problem posing education. He was convinced that the problem posing method was the obvious and better method to use, but is it really the best way to teach? Paulo Friers was very convincing in his essay .He brought very efficient statements about the problem posing method and how it is the better method. But in some courses the banking education is required as a method of teaching.Problem posing can be useful and efficient in some fields of study but so can banking education.
One of the reasons why banking education is a better method of teaching is because take for instance a mathematics class. I remember when I was in High school I had an Advanced mathematics class which was extremely difficult. the class was taught by an amazing woman who I admire and talk to to this day. Even though she basically taught us using the banking education method she brought it up in an extremely fun way .She would introduce and write the problem and teach us how to answer it in the best and easiest way which for me is what I expected from a mathematics class.The number 2, we all know this number, in a Mathematics class 2+2 is always 4. How could we further discuss it? I could not imagine a better method than the banking education. In a mathematics class you cannot interact with the teacher and give her your ideas about it. simply because mathematics has certain rules and sets you must follow to get the problem right. You cannot discuss those rules or give explanations to them the rules are a given and you simply cannot change them.
However, I would not cancel the problem posing method out of the education system. Sometimes a decent discussion could make the course...
