Computers and information technology is a part of our daily lives, and new technology is being developed at a fast pace. Computer training is needed to help expand new computer software systems and to include new technologies and applications. The skills needed for Careers in IT change all of the time reflecting changes in technology and the growing needs of companies. Computer software engineers apply the techniques and principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematics to the development, design, testing, and evaluation of software and systems. Software and computer systems enable computers to perform their many applications.

Abstract
This is an overview of the software engineering career. The intent is to provide career-seeking high school students with vital, decision-making information based on job satisfaction, salary, benefits, working environments, and career outlook. The proposal will detail background information on the author with the purpose of showing how the software engineering career can bring satisfaction and excitement to the professional. It will then discuss the details of the job and outline major benefits and drawbacks, as well as provide educated predictions on the career for the coming years.
