Have you ever read a story about a boy that thought he’s going to die? In the story “A Days Wait” , by Ernest Hemingway, a boy named Schatz catches a fever and thinks he’s going to die. The conflict is internal. It’s internal because he didn’t move , didn’t want to sleep , and kept thinking he’s going to die.
Here are a couple ways he didn’t move. One way he didn’t move was when his father was reading to him, he just stayed still not speaking at all(29). Another way was that he was in the same position when his dad left and came back from hunting. The last way was that he just stared at the foot of his bed with no word.(30) These reasons show that he didn’t move.
This paragraph shows you reasons he didn’t sleep. One way was that his father had asked him to go back to bed when he woke up and said I’m ok.(29) Another way was when his father left and said he would wake him up for the medicine schatz just stayed up telling people to stay out. The last way was that when his father was reading he stayed up listening. All of these reasons show that he didn’t sleep.(30)
You will now be reading reasons he thought he’s going to die. One way was that a doctor took his temperature and said he had 102 degrees and scahtz heard you can’t live with 44 degrees at school.(29) Another way was mixing up celsius with fahranheight but schatz didn’t know. The last way he thought he’s going to die was when he had asked his dad when am I going to die but his father said your not going to die.(31) This paragraph has explain the reasons he thought he’s going to die.
This story just shows you that you should assume stuff before you presume something. Next time your sick ask your parents or doctor what’s the worst that can happen and don’t worry.
