A Summary of Hamlet

A Summary of Hamlet

A.P. World Extra credit
For my A.P. world extra credit, i watched the movie hamlet. Hamlet is based off the shakespeare play Hamlet. It is an interesting movie, and the play's plot is very advanced for its time. The play, because that is where the movie is adapted from, is about a Prince Hamlet who exacts revenge on his uncle Claudius. The reason Hamlet exacts revenge is because his uncle killed Hamlet's father, the king. His mother marries his uncle, causing Hamlet much emotional, physical, and mental distress. He feigns madness, some people believe that he is mad, to throw off suspicion. A ghost appears to Hamlet and the ghost tells Hamlet that his Uncle killed his father, the king. Hamlet doesn't believe the ghost and concocts a plan to see if his uncle has guilt. In the end, Hamlet is stabbed with a poison tipped sword, but mortally wounds his attacker. While poisoned, Hamlet manages to kill his Uncle, and gives the crown to prince of Norway. Hamlet has much to do about our studies in A.P. World history. Hamlet, the character, has much conflict, and gives us insight onto the many people in world history who were conflicted involving the throne, death, and murders. The location is an area that we are studying right now, and also the plot gives us more insight onto how the crown, or throne, is passed along. It also explains why some people would go to such lengths as to kill and murder for the throne. In the end, Hamlet has a lot to do about our studies on world history currently, and is a very good movie and play.
