A Walk To Remember
A walk to remember is your spellbinding love story about two people finding that one person they’ve been looking for. A walk to Remember is a popular book that was soon made into a film in 2002. Landon is the narrator that flashes back 57 years from his time period but he remembers his whole story like it was yesterday. Landon was that typical high school jock and bad boy that didn’t really care about school. In the beginning of the book he only cared about appearances. He soon realized how different she is. As he grew closer and closer to Jaime he became a better person. The first moment he sees Jaime is his first step toward his change.
The very first line of the book Landon said “When I was seventeen, my life changed forever . There are a few differences and similarties between the movie and the book. In the book , after Landon gets dumped from his steady girlfriend Angel Clark he soon desperately needs a date to the homecoming dance. As no other girls were available he had only one option left, Jaime. In the movie it was a whole different situation, he only asked Jaime to be his homecoming date is for a punishment for his prank. But either way he found Jaime a cool and funny girl. In the novel he asked Jaime to be his homecoming date she didn’t hesistate to say yes. But she can only be his date in one condition. He was allowed to fall in love with her. He found that a joke at first but the irony part is that it actually happens.
The book and movie was approached differently when Landon finds out that Jaime had leukemia. When he found out she had cancer in the book he is uncomfortable around her and is afraid he will offend her. While in the movie he is dedicated to her. But in the novel and the book He realized that life was too precious to worry about what people think about you and he learned to believe in himself.
