1. The main issue presented in the case of Family Business is the discrimination of employees based on genetic. Eddie is the manager over the family business and his brother Greg is one of his employees, but the way Greg receives special treatment from his brother is not acceptable in the work force. Every employee should be treated the same and no favoritism should be shown. The fact that Eddie was doing it in private just makes it that much worse.
2. A family business should not be any different in regards to how their employees get treated. The law under GINA says that it is illegal to discriminate against an employee because of genetic information. That law stands for all businesses, not just the higher name ones.
3. Jane faced a dilemma of whether or not she should do what she knows is right, and report the discrimination of employees she witnessed even though she knows it will get her fire; or should she stay quiet and let the people in charge continue to be corrupt.
4. Jane should report Eddie and have him brought down for what he has been doing. People’s morals should outweigh the fact that she wants to keep her job. If she knows what is right and does not do it, then to her it is sin. Standing up for what is right is the correct thing to in this situation. Now I know the right thing to do is not always the easiest, that is why having a strong backbone and even stronger morals will cause you to stand up and do the right thing and cease the flame before it turns into a forest fire.
