I'M on Independent Study Because

“I’m on independent study because.”
I am Brittany Freeman. I’m 15, currently a sophomore attending Tahquitz High school. I would like to be enrolled in an independent study program for various reasons, also hoping to better myself for further experiences in my future.
The first reason why I would like to be in an independent study program is very important. I am behind in credits due to my slacking off my freshmen year. I would like to be able to catch up on my credits, get ahead of the game and become the person I know I can be with this kind of help.
Another reason for my wanting to be on home studies is my lack of transportation back and fourth to school. I am not guaranteed a ride to school everyday, which is not academically acceptable considering I realize that my attendance has a lot to do with my grades in school. This would help me in the long run by only needing transportation once a week for home studies rather than every day for regular high school, which isn’t guaranteed for me.
Also I’d like to be put on a home study program because I work better alone and a classroom full of distractions everyday takes a toll on my ability to pay attention and learn. I also think that it would make me a more independent, mature person and bring out the better student in me.
Overall I want to change my schooling habits and do well to improve my academic structure so I may succeed as a well-educated student. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to help myself get on track so that I may graduate and become a successful young woman.

Thank you for your time
And consideration,
Brittany Freeman
