I Pledge Allegiance

“I Pledge Allegiance”
“I pledge allegiance to flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all.” We live in a nation based on democracy and liberty, a country where we get to make decisions for ourselves and do things for ourselves. This 2008 Presidential Election is an excellent example of how our amazing country works! We have two candidates to hear, analyze, and then choose between them. One candidate believes in our country, its morals, and the people who live in it, while the other believes our flag is a sign of oppression and that the United States is somewhat of a bully. Seems like a tough decision? I beg to differ.
Senator John McCain is running as the Republican candidate for presidency against the Democratic candidate, Senator Barack Obama. Sen. McCain has been in the Senate for over twenty years and is experienced in the way our government works. The president of our nation should be someone who is patriotic towards our country, knows how to lead, and believes in what the United States of America stands for. Wow! Could that have been a description of Sen. John McCain? Maybe, but let’s stick to the point here! Why should a man, that refuses to salute our flag and believes that it is a sign of oppression all over the world, govern the people of our country? Barack Obama may say he wants change, but what kind of change does he want? That should be the most asked question towards him. He says more healthcare for more people, so wouldn’t that mean more medical taxes? My family makes over $200,000 all together, and they worked hard for it. Why should we have to pay for the healthcare of someone who is lazy and just wants to live off our government? The last thing our country needs right now is to be taxed more! Although, taxes will be a problem with either candidate, why not vote for the candidate that understands our country and its finances: John McCain....
