Army Standards & Regulations Essay
Army standards and regulations have been apart of the army for many years. Standards and regulations have provided great discipline to soldiers and have set guidelines for mission completion and combat readiness. Each standard and regulation covers many things such as proper wear of the Military uniform, shaving, weight control, medical and physical fitness and many more. These rules and regulations also cover the basics and proper standards of proper accountability, whenever a soldier is not present for a formation. IIt is apart of a soldiers duty to abide by the rules, standards and regulations of the US Army. Without these, the US Army could be hectic and chaotic.
Proper wear of the military uniform is covered in AR:670-1. This regulation (Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia) tells how males & females hair should be worn, how long fingernails are allowed to be, tattoo standards, etcetera. This AR also states that Eyepro should be ballistic and CZ87. This regulation and standard is perhaps the most important one in the Military. A portion of AR: 670-1 states that male soldiers should be clean shaven on and off duty. It’s implied that males should be clean shaven even while one leave, similar to wearing ballistic eyewear at all times while being in the field and being deployed. Failure to abide by the standards of wearing eyebrow could result in damage to your eyes, whether it be permanent or temporary.
The Army Weight Control & standards are covered in AR 600-9. This regulation provides standards for body fat percentages. The Army has set a standard where all soldiers should be healthy and physically fit. It is implied that each soldier is responsible for meeting the standards of this regulation. Soldiers who do not meet their weight standards at first offense, it should be imposed that a flag is placed on them.
