Going Through Great Changes
From 1980 until 1989, the world had been greatly impacted by many things. With the inventions of technical products the world became even more advanced. The greatest improvement which eased work for many people was the computer. Along with the inventions, there were many medical advances in the world. One of which was the Hepatitis B vaccine, that helped people recover from illnesses around the world. The last things to impact the world were the numerous natural disasters that occurred. These attacks of Mother Nature changed and hurt the world, causing many deaths. The technical inventions, science developments and natural disasters molded the world into what it is today. During the 1980s, the American way of life was greatly impacted by the enhancement of the personal computer, major medical advancements, along with natural disasters.
It is hard to imagine our lives today without technology. The 1980s was a time of great effective change, with all of the advancements in technological matters. “In July of 1980, IBM representatives met for the first time with Microsoft's Bill Gates to talk about writing an operating system for IBM's new hush-hush "personal" computer” (Inventors of the…computer). “The personal computers became both more sophisticated and yet cheap enough to buy for the home” ( Watts 26). Along with the advancement of the IBM-PC, an invention of the CD-Rom was developed in 1982. The CD-Rom was used to listen to music other than on a radio or cassette tape and it was invented by Sony and Philips. The CD-Rom compact disc format is used to hold text, graphics, and hi-fi stereo sound (The Basic of…CD-Rom).
