3. If there is someone to blame, who would you hold responsible for the suicide of Theresa Perrone? Why?
I would hold almost all of the characters responsible, everyone played a part in the destruction of Theresa’s life. Everyone knows what he or she are doing or going to do you know what is right or wrong you hear that little voice telling you. The two main people I would say are Megan Carter and Elliot Rosen they are the most responsible for the death of Theresa Perrone. Elliot by purposely-leaving Mike Gallagher’s file on his desk knowingly Megan was going to read the file and write a story. A story that really didn’t have to be printed there was no reason for the investigation to even be taking place according to Elliot in the first place, just because he needed help getting information in his own case.
This film was very informative for me by seeing how people just don’t care about others. It tells an amazing story about how some people almost just don’t care about their actions having a reaction. Having a cop be the source of where everything took place is kind of appalling. You think of a cop as having unlimited resources to anything or anyone not needing to leak the unfinished file/story to a news reporter knowing she was going to print it. People have no morals or sense of right and wrong everyone is out to better themselves just so they can get ahead. The question that comes to my mind is how are people being raised?
2. If mike Gallagher were to pursue legal action against the Miami standard newspaper, what laws cold he says the paper violated?
If he wanted to he could say defamation of character. It would end up being a civil issue if he were to get that far. There wasn’t any strong evidence to begin with that he had anything to do with what the cops were trying to solve. Megan pretty much dragged his name through the dirt and had reckless disregard of the truth, by not finding it out and finishing her...
