Persuasive Essay

People check their cell phones every six minutes, which is 150 times a day.Would it hurt to take a break from cellphones to learn? What if a teacher walks in the classroom and saw students texting or playing games? How would she/he feel? Schools should ban cell phones because, they are a distraction, students can prank call, and students can cheat on a test/quiz.
First, school should ban cell phones because they are a distraction. Students can just start texting in the middle of class while the teacher is teaching. It causes the student to not know the topic in class so when that person get homework, they would not know how/what to do. Imagine this: The teacher is teaching the students a very hard subject. Cassie gets a text in the middle of class, instead of ignoring it, she got on it and began texting. She then gets a worksheet and does not know what to do after reading the directions, so she complains. What if a phone began ringing in the middle of class, while students are trying to do their work? This will cause the students to get off task, and students will talk and laugh. Cell phones should be banned because it can disrupt the class and dysfunctions the brains of students.
Secondly, cell phones should be banned from school because students can cause a scene by prank calling. While the teacher is gone, the student can just prank call the cops or whomever, this causes a scene and will embarrass the student and the school. Imagine this: Rayan decided that he wanted to prank call the police, just to be funny. He tells the cop there is a bomb in the school. It causes the cops and firefighters to rush to the school, finding out there was no bomb. Rayan is now arrested.
