Anabolic steroids have been used for a very long time and a common question is who uses them and why. The most common answer and most obvious is to build extreme muscle mass that of which most peoples genetics will not allow. Steroid users may also be looking for any physical edge it isn’t just body builders and football players that abuse steroids. Swimmers, cyclists, and many other professional athletes use them to be bigger faster and stronger. Steroids can be used to either bulk quickly or “cut” meaning lose body fat un-naturally fast. The main purpose of steroids is to introduce large quantities of testosterone in the body for optimal anabolic state or muscle growth. Men are not the only users of steroids many women make the decision to use as well. Many use them to keep up with males who naturally build muscle faster and have lower natural body fat percentages. Many steroid users that are women admit that is helps their self-esteem and image of themselves. Women will also notice strength gains but more commonly feel a sence of euphoria. Because of the high introduction of testosterone there will be a large increase in energy for both sexes but women will benefit most from this because they have a lower level of testosterone then men. Other reasons for the use of steroids for either sex is heightened sexual arousal that becomes very evident after even the first few doses. The training whether weight lifting of athletics will become more intense and effective for personal growth along with a very quick recovery time, so training levels can be increased for an even more effective workout. Some people decide to use anabolic steroids solely for protection and many admit to being either sexually or physically abused and later in life they are constantly chasing a body that makes them feel safe and secure.
