In the news clip with Larry King and Rudy Giuliani the example was paid for by CNN and presented on Larry King Live. With the “Having a baby changes everything “ads these examples were paid for by the Johnson & Johnson company. Is there a slant, or secondary opinion to the examples? In the Larry King interview I did not detect any secondary opinions from either Larry or Rudy Giuliani. Both men stayed on the subject of the 9/11 attacks in New York with the exception where Larry Asked Rudy if he was going to run for President and Rudy stated he was not sure and said that would not be known until 2007( this interview was in 2006). With the baby ads I detected that a message was being sent that once you have a baby your whole life will change, and that family is now the most important part of you. Both of the examples in today’s world society is all about changes whether it is from having kids or the way we travel because of strengthened security due to the attacks of 9/11.

In the Larry King Live interview I have no skepticism towards either Larry King or Rudy Giuliani. Larry King is a highly respectable talk show host. If his credibility was tainted he would not have lasted long on television, and Rudy Giuliani lived through one of the United States worst disasters but still was able to provide some kind words about Iraq and how they are trying to form a new government.

In the Johnson and Johnson ads was there a claim made? Johnson and Johnson did not make an outright claim but did play on the human emotion about being there for your family. Whether they try to invoke a feeling of desire or fear depends on the viewer watching the advertisement. In todays busy lifestyles a single person watching this advertisement might have a fear of losing their freedom of traveling or going out with “the boys” or the fear of having to change their working habits to stay home more.
