Plan
Firstly I will look at two companies that use different analytical techniques and write up a report comparing and contrasting these two companies. I will give myself plenty of time to carry out research and to write up my report.
Introduction
The two organizations I have chosen to base my report on are Anglesey Sea Zoo and LGC. I think these are useful organizations where I can gather relevant information to include in my report. I also believe these are good organizations to use as they are contrasting organizations.
Anglesey sea zoo
Type of work
Anglesey Sea Zoo is an organization who works with different types of water animals. It is a small organization which attracts a large crowd of people. It is based on the Isle of Anglesey.
Staff
Sarah Meaking is one of the Anglesey Sea Zoo biologists and has been working there since 2007, first as an Aquarist, then Senior Aquarist in 2009. At the Anglesey Sea Zoo she is responsible for the development and management of the Lobster Hatchery of Wales as well as coordination of the Shark and Ray Breeding Programs both within the aquarium and as part of a national working group. She also contributes to the veterinary needs of the animals in their care and the development of graphics and exhibit interpretation.
She holds a joint honours degree in Marine Biology and Zoology and an MSc in Shellfish Biology, Fisheries and Aquaculture.
Matt Davidson has been working at the Anglesey Sea Zoo since late 2008, first as a volunteer, then a part-time aquarist before finally becoming a full time aquarist and core staff member. He is responsible for developing and looking after the aquarium systems and displays. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Zoology, and has researched fish visual acuity systems and food recognition.
Frankie Hobro has been part of the Anglesey Sea Zoo team since 2007 and since his arrival has begun to reshape the education and community liaison work they do there. He has over a decade of...
