In an era where insured safety is nearly impossible to come by, people need to be prepared for anything that may or may not happen. At this point in our nation’s history it would be foolish to think that our safety is not in danger. There are many people in many nations who not only hate us, but also have committed numerous acts of terrorism against us. Overreactions to these critical events is necessary in order to protect our country and insure it’s safety, even if it infringes on a few of our civil liberties, our national security and national safety comes first.
In this day, where terrorism is a constant underlying threat to our safety and security as a nation, our countries government has developed The Patriot Act. The Patriot Act was developed to further insure our safety and security. The Patriot Act was approved and signed by president George W. Bush on March 9, 2006. This law is vital to winning the war on terror, and protecting the American citizens. The Patriot Act allows our intelligence and law enforcement officials to continue to share valuable information. It allows them to use tools that they once used against drug dealers and other criminals on the national level. In this law it permits the FBI to search telephone records, email records, and financial records without a court order. To some this may seem like an outrageous violation of privacy, but at this time in our nations history we cannot take any chances. We must take any and all precautions to insure our well-being, safety, and security as a nation.
Many people question the effectiveness of The Patriot Act. They say that it isn’t effective and should have been vetoed. The truth is The Patriot Act has accomplished exactly what it was designed to do. It has helped us as a nation save American lives, detect terrorist cells, and disrupt
