The Hobbit research paper
The Hobbit throughout his journey runs into many problems which can be connected into modern day society such as predators and criminals using social networking sites as a way to commit crime, finding a way to make computer hacker which is usually a bad act into a good act which serves a purpose in society, and social networking communication ruining peoples communication skills. MySpace, Facebook, and twitter are ways that sexual predators and criminals can all have contact with people and this relates to the hobbit because the evil lord Saurmon uses the ring of power as a way to get to innocent people. Bilbo Baggins is the company’s thief but for a good reason, which relates to the wiretapping that the government has been using to stop terrorist activity. Bilbo Baggins at the beginning of the story was a secluded, isolated Hobbit who loses a sense of his society and the world around him because of how long he has not socialized correctly which relates to people communicating on the social network incorrectly with improper abbreviations and improper grammar. Bilbo Baggins finds himself in situations where he encounters all of these dilemmas but in a different form in a different world.

In the Hobbit Bilbo on his journey runs into a creature who’s name is Gollum. Gollum lives in a cave deep in a mountain and has a deep obsession with a ring that he found a long time ago. This ring that he found was actually formally owned by the dark evil lord Saurmon and is very powerful. Gollum used to be a hobbit himself but the ring possessed him and made itself the focus of Gollum’s life which turned him into an arched, skinny, pale, and dirty creature that has murdered and casted away his old life for the ring.
