The Justification is the Atomic Bomb
On August 6th, 1945 a very tragic incident happened in history. It seemed to be the start of a beautiful day in Japan but turned into a complete nightmare. The United States of America decided that they were going to join WWII when Japan intentionally attacked them at Pearl Harbor. On December 7th, 1941 at 7:55am an American naval base contacted the Pearl Harbor and told them that Japanese airplanes bombed Pearl Harbor. This devastated the whole country and made a huge impact on American opinions towards the Japanese. On December 8th, 1941 the United States declared war against Japan. Prior to the attack at Pearl Harbor, the United States wanted to stay neutral in WWII. This was because America was going through their own problems like the Great Depression and didn't want to fight in the war. Many young men and fathers were shocked and also very fueled by their devastating losses in this attack. Many men joined the army, and Americans instituted draft. A year later of war far between the two nations, President Roosevelt began the idea of nuclear warfare. This lead to his creation of the Manhattan project, where all the U.S. research on the Atomic Bomb and Nuclear warfare began taking place. Before he could even see the Manhattan Project, President Roosevelt died of a stroke. Vice President Harry. S Truman took his place in office on April 12, 1945. After four months went by, Truman decided that he wanted to bomb Japan to end the war. His plan was to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki. On April 6th, Truman ordered his men to bomb Hiroshima. This bomb was known as the "Big Boy". Even though many people believed that the use of this bomb was unnecessary and unethical, this weapon of mass destruction created many benefits for the United States because it ended the war, it prevented a lot of casualties, and proved Americas strength.
