The business cycle also known as the life cycle of a business is very much like the circle of life. It starts with creation and ends with the inevitable end. Just like with the human life cycle the business life cycle time frame can vary greatly. Some businesses may have a cycle of only one or two days and some business may be in business for a century or more, just like the human life cycle. With the human life cycle it starts with conception, moves to birth, then to infancy, then to toddle, then to child, then to teenager, then to mature age, then the inevitable end. A business life cycle is very similar; it starts with the seed stage. The seed stage is the thought or idea that starts the young business into this world. This is the very conception or birth of a new business ("Just in Time Management", 2013).  The business then moves to the birth stage also known as the startup phase this is where the business starts to come to life and enter into the world. Next is the growth stage, or infancy to childhood. This is where the business starts to blossom and make money, just like a child starts to come into their own the business is as well. Established phase is very similar to the late teens and early twenties phase of life. This is where the business has a good customer base and is thriving with relative ease in society. Next comes the expansion phase this would be compared to the late twenties early thirties time frame in the human life cycle. This is where the business starts to grow and get ready to expand, much like someone getting married or having a family. Next is the mature phase which would be very similar to the human life cycle known as middle aged. The business is stable and is making a comfortable profit, just like most people in their middle aged time frame.
