Written Case Analysis: The Global Casino Industry

The global casino industry has grown substantially and has enjoyed record profits over the last several decades. Here in the US in particular, casinos have made significant economic contributions through providing various jurisdictions not only with tax benefits, but also employment opportunities. There has been stiff competition in many areas, especially those surrounding popular gambling destinations such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City. As a response to the many changes in the structure and competition of the industry as a whole, well-known US-based gambling companies like MGM and Wynn have set their eyes towards global expansion.in Las Vegas are taking advantage of global expansion and are also looking to offer a broader range of entertainment options for visitors. They are setting their sights on other popular tourist destinations, such as Macao and the Philippines. They are also exploring other types of entertainment, such as spas, shows, and shopping venues in an effort to appeal to a slightly younger generation. Additionally, they are becoming more and more creative with the design of their properties, incorporating “themes” to provide tourists with a more realistic experience. Analysts in this particular industry are able to closely study trends in customer behaviors so that they can quickly and continuously develop new ideas.
