The Contemporary Value Chain in Action
A value chain is a combination of every process within the company. Each process works together to ensure that the overall objective of the organization is accomplished. When the value chain is properly utilized the company’s overall success rate is in a flourishing environment. Each element directly correlates with one another to provide the customers wants and needs. Furthermore, the continuous development and improvements are imperative to the overall objective of the organization. When a business’s value chain is not sufficient, the customers suffer greatly and eventually the business will sacrifice.

Description
My wife and I purchased a Toyota Camry as our first car together. We were about to have our daughter and we needed a reliable car to use. We were both excited to have a new vehicle and it also allowed me to have peace of mind while I was deployed. Our new to us, but used car was a blessing for several years. However, the moment the check engine light came on, many overwhelming issues resulted in us trading in our car for another one that would not have the same problems. Little did I know at the time, that this was a problem with Toyota’s value chain? Our car was only a few years old and only had about 70,000 miles on it, when the check engine light came on. My wife took it to a local auto parts store to find out why the light was on. They explained to her that we needed to replace the spark plugs which was no big issue since I grew up fixing cars with my dad. On my way home from work that afternoon, I stopped and picked up six spark plugs for the Camry and I quickly began fixing this simple issue.
