Jessica Travis, to me, has always shown outstanding ethical conduct in every part of her work. She is a born leader and has shown that both in the Animal Shelter and as a reservist in the Air Force. She is disciplined, precise and trustworthy. Two key ethical traits she demonstrates every day is her warm, outgoing and approachable personality, which makes her employees feel respected and valued and also how she leads by example, which motivates her employees to become better.
Jessica Travis adopts an ‘open door policy’ with her management technique and believes that to be respected you must give respect. She encourages her employees to come to her for anything, no matter how big or how small. She encourages them to vent frustrations and share their concerns and ideas. Jessica is a just and fair manager and will recognize achievements, understand failure and punish mistakes. She does this all by being approachable and having an adoptive personality. She respects her employees and believes in strong team building. She believes that with a strong team that is open and honest with one another, respect will flow and trust will strengthen.
Jessica also leads by example, which makes this ethical trait one of her strongest. She takes everything that she is and everything that she believes in and shows it every day. Whether that’s in a simple decision of what her email reply will be to a more dire decision like which call to respond to first. Jessica shows excellent decision making and encourages her employees to do the same. When faced with a difficult decision she handles the situation with efficiency, fairness and clarity-all traits she encourages in her employees. Jessica believes in pushing her employees to become better and she does through team building and thinking outside the box.
