Cause and Effect Paragraph
My dog named Coco was a loving and well-loved member of our family. She enjoyed being around people but especially she loved being part of the family. When I would come into the house after school, Coco would run up to me and lick my face like she was saying “hello.” In fact, there was never a time when she wasn’t happy to see us. Not only was she the family pet but she was a member of the family who would travel with us on vacation. She loved to travel with me to many places. One of the places she went to was the kern river where I saw her protective side for the first time. Some guys were in a raft bothering my family and me and were asked to leave and they didn’t. I saw her tied to the trees and she went into attack mode and started barking at the people she saw forcing them to leave. She seemed to have a protective side of her personality that could sense something was not right and needed to protect the family. Another example of her protective sense was when my dad was arguing with a man who had become violent, she rushed forward and bit the guy in the leg. Even though she was protective, she was also very gentle towards me. She would never get upset with me if I tugged her ear or pulled her tail. She seemed like a mother who loved her kids because she wanted to be around everyone and travel with me and my family. Another example of her gentle, maternal disposition was that she would go into the house and walk the hallway and look into all the bedrooms to make sure everyone was asleep in their own beds. She would do this before she would go to her own kennel before the night. My childhood was much improved because I had a loving dog as a friend.
