Ireland is a rather small country in the European continent. It is surrounded by many islands an inslets. On the map, you will find Ireland to the right of Great Britain, separated by the Irish Sea. The name Ireland comes from the Celtic Eriu. The Celtic culture derived from the Iron Age. The Celtic people indigenous, and polytheistic religion practice. During the seventh and eighth century, the art style was Hiberno-Saxon style. During the time the Celtic people populated Ireland they wore quite comfortable clothes. It is believed that the Celtic people used a wheeled transport as a form of transportation. The piece of art work I chose to recreate for the whistle was the Claddagh ring. It is a traditional ring that greatly represents the Irish culture, now and for many centuries.
The Celtic people practice the polytheistic religion. Texts from that time show Gods and Goddesses of the Irish culture. Before the Iron Age, Celtics did not see their Gods as having a human form, however it developed during the Iron Age. These people worshiped their Gods and Goddesses. Their Gods represented different skills or natural features, such as, Boann, Goddess of River Boyne. The Celtic people had hundreds of deities. Druids filled a variety of roles in Celtic religion as priests and religious officiants, judges, teachers and lore-keepers. These people organized and ran religious ceremonies and sacrifices and also teaching the calender. They would measure up to college professor of our time. To create these calenders, it required a good general knowledge of mathematics. Eventually, Christianity was spread throughout Ireland and Great Britain, bringing the early medieval renaissance of Celtic Art. Famous works developed during this time include, Book of Kellsand Ardagh Chalice. Later on in the 19th century, nationalism brought Celtic revivals.
During the Iron Age, the Celtic people wore long sleeved shirts and tunics. They wore long trousers....
