The character in The Chosen by Chaim Potok that was my least favorite person was Danny Saunders. My favorite person was Mr. Malter. I feel they showed extremely different personalties in The Chosen.
I admire Mr. Malter for his even temper throughout the novel. He had a good heart and was very helpful. Mr. Malter mediated differences between Reb Saunders and Reuven because of his beliefs. Even though his son Reuven got hurt when Danny hit him in the eye with a baseball, Mr Malter realized that it was an accident and made Reuven forgive Danny. He was sensible and understood that people make mistakes. i i liked this quality because everyone makes mistakes and should be given a second chance. Mr Malter was also caring. He gave Danny books to read other than talmud books. He tried to show understanding of how a young person thinks. As an adult Mr. Malter was very much in touch with young people. Mr Malter is a very loving and compassionate father to Reuven. It seems like he understands what Reuven is going through and encourages reuven to speak his mind. Mr. Malter was extremely brave when he went to speak at madison square garden on zionism. Being able to speak in front of huge group of people is a quality i admire because I find it difficult to do and i wish it came easier for me. Mr Malter has a lot of qualities that i admire and thats why he is my favorite character in the book.

When he was in experimental psychology (which he needed to take to get into human phycology)he was mad that he had to take that coarse because it was a hard for him and, to him every thing comes easy. Danny also had little compassion for others . When danny was four his father told him a story on the suffering of others he memorized the whole story but did not feel bad for any of the people. Reb saunders(his father) said,...
