There are many of opportunities after high school studies for seniors. Even though going away for college right after high school is such a great opportunity, I personally feel that staying close to home for two years is much better than going away right after high school. By staying close to home, you will be more comfortable and get used to being in college. Also, staying close to home gives a little free time to get a part time job while going to school still. Last, by staying home and going to a community college it is saving so much money and time to save money for when you actually want to go away to pursue your college degree. Going away to college right after high school does not always turn out to be the best decision. Some students that decide to travel for college, realize they cannot pay for it which results in them coming back home to go to a community college until they can afford it. Another reason I strongly disagree with going away to college right after high school is because high school graduates are still in their partying stage. High school graduates become young adults, so they still want to party and go out and drink and the whole ordeal. Sometimes, not always but sometimes students end up failing and may even get kicked out because of their grades being so low. From personal experience having friends with the experience, I think that after graduating high school, it is better to stay close to home for a few more years than going away to college.
Anyone knows that going away for college can be extremely pricey. According to the article, Campus explorer, the typical rate for room and board per year is at least ten thousand dollars, that’s without personal expenses, transportation, books and supplies and so on. All of those expenses can be avoided by staying home and going to a community college for two years and than transferring. Staying close to home is not a bad...
