Conflict and War

Throughout the history of mankind, wars and conflicts have presented themselves among all civilizations. Conflicts have always occurred no matter what forms of government a country practices. The reason for this is because we are sociable organisms and live in groups instead of individually. Humans also create distinctions within themselves and this is the origin of inequality. Since no two humans are alike, and we are all unequal, humans fight with each other on the basis that they are different. The concept of war exists because of the concept of disagreement and inequality.
Ten thousand years ago, society did not exist. Humans that lived during this time period fought to survive, and only the strong achieved this common goal. In this state, war between two groups would not have happened because humans could only satisfy their basic needs and act according to their instincts. However, when people began to come together because of common goals and interests, the concept of war was born. Fights between residents of a village or community could escalade into riots or war. When a person lived alone, grudges lasted only long enough for a person to meet their own living requirements; however, war within a society or between societies’ could last years. An individual is not capable of starting a war, but collective groups of people have the power and influence to cause serious conflicts that are not easy to resolve.
When a society is formed, differences between the people in that community result in prejudice, discrimination and violence. This inequality results in war with one another. The fact that all humans are different is the very thing that makes us human. There are different genders, races, social statuses, and many things that make us singularly unique from any group of people.
