Crazy about Craigslist
Since 2003 I have used Craigslist many times to find the things I need. I have been able to: lease, furnish, and landscape my home. I managed to save a lot of money because I utilized Craigslist. Thank you Craig Newark for the development of your groundbreaking "Craigslist" website.
The first time I used Craigslist was back in 2003. I was a new Dad with a new family, looking for a bigger place to call home. I tried going through real estate agents at first, but I didn’t have strong enough credit to get approved. Next, I tried the online websites for housing rentals, again I had problems finding the right place for my family. A friend told me about a new website called “Craigslist” so I gave it a try. Right away I found the place that was just right for my new family. A place that was not too big or too small and the monthly rent was just right.
Next, I needed furniture for our new home. I had been searching but not finding: a couch, love seat and coffee table. I was also in need of a queen size bed and a crib. That was a long and expensive list for a new family to fill. Again, I went to Craigslist just to see what I could find. I did not have very high hopes of finding any inexpensive quality furniture or beds- I was wrong. I found a couch for $150.00 that was barely used. I also found a matching love seat and a coffee table, both for $75.00, total! The items were located in my town so I didn’t even have to drive far away to pick them up and both transactions went very smoothly. I just had to find a bed and a crib. I kept looking and the next week I found a brand new crib that someone didn’t need and I bought it for $45.00. Brand new crib in the box would usually cost $445.00!(Evans, 2012). That has to be one of my best deals I have gotten so far on Craigslist. The only thing left was a queen size bed, so I kept searching.
