Charles Murray describes the white working class and the white upper class as two different cultures. The white upper class pays no attention to the white working class because they are in their own little world (Noah, 2012). I agree with Murray’s opinion because the white working class struggle to live more than the upper class. The working class has a lot more trouble finding jobs and the upper class acts like everything should be handed and expected to them. Charles Murray wants the government programs to stop because people are depending on them way too much. Murray believes that there should be a guaranteed income and I agree with that also because people of different classes make more than one another if they are doing the same kind of job. The government’s way of solving these problems is to have all of these government programs available to most of the United States. The government is just pushing these issues into a corner and providing all of these programs is not a way to solve anything and they aren’t.
Charles Murray’s views are very relevant when it comes to commutative justice. Murray's idea of white working class is that illegitimacy, crime and joblessness are the main problems that plague the working class (Murray, 2012). The working class has a harder time holding jobs and they have their children out of wedlock, unlike the upper class. The upper class also seems to forget a lot about the working class and worry less about what they do. I agree that Murray’s comment of “economic insecurities should have nothing to do with our values, so we should not bother using the government”. This comment makes Murray’s views very relevant because you are able to see the differences that he believes in and what the working classes should and should not do in order to influence the rights that we have.
I don’t think the working class and the upper class share the same understanding of the rights and the responsibilities that we have. We are not meeting in...
