Critique- Demonstration Speech
How to make jewelry with safety pins.
The speaker started off good with an attention grabber by telling us how safety pins can be used in fun ways and showed off some cool jewelry she made with them. She seemed very credible because she was wearing one of the bracelets she made. The speaker kind of jumped into her speech a little too quickly without making it clear of what her main points were going to be exactly. It would have been helpful to the class to have known what the next steps were going to be in the making of the jewelry.
When the speaker got into the body of her speech, she did well with transitioning into the next points. She was very clear and organized with her slides which made each step easy to understand. Foe the most part, she kept the class interested with her slides because it was something new to us.
The speaker could have been clearer that the speech was coming to an end. She did go back and summarize her main points which were good. The slides helped a lot with the closing because it was cool to see the finished product at the end of the speech.
The speaker’s eye contact was very good and I believe she kept her composer. I was able to hear her at all times and the slides were very clear. She came prepared with not only her slides but also one of the bracelets she made which was neat to see in person.
Overall, I think the speaker did well. She had a clear delivery and the information was knowledgeable. The only improvements I could think of is to slow down a little bit and you could of previewed the main points better.
