Desert Island

Desert Island

Imagine you’ve been stranded on a Desert Island and you’re doomed to be there for all of eternity. But wait! What if you got to choose 5 songs to listen to for that long, lonely time. What would you choose? If I was stranded on a Desert Island for all of eternity and had to choose five songs I would have to go with the following: “Mesopotamia” by Black Light Burns; “Someone’s In The Wolf” by Queens of the Stone Age; “Zero-Sum” by Nine Inch Nails, “Nobody Loves Me and Neither Do I” by Them Crooked Vultures; and “Videotape” by Radiohead.

Honestly, I could see myself hallucinating about partying with a group of groovy skeletons singing the chorus: “Mesopotamia, Mesopotamia, you really give me the creeps, you really give me the creeps”. The song has a steady, hard drum beat, fuzzy-sounding distorted guitars, cool keyboard noises, and a unique voice Perhaps the reason I have such a strong connection with this song is because Borland has a semi-deep voice that almost matches the deepness of mine. This allows me to sing it...
