Do or Die
We are all faced with problems throughout our lives. It’s not only the people around the world that is faced with it, but it also includes the many Police Departments. Gang violence can be a major issue not only in the United States, but around the world. Studies have shown that gangs are made up of different races, different ages, etc. There are even gangs out there are strictly by letting you get in by what race you are. What would you do if you were face to face with a gang member and didn’t know what to do? Would you rather live life feeling free or living your life up to someone else’s standards?
There are many choices why I have chosen this particular subject. The first reason why I want to write a research paper on gangs and gang violence is because I want to major in criminology and go into the field of criminal justice. The many stories that are told about gangs have always been extremely fascinating to me. Another reason why I have picked this topic out is because of my concern towards how it affects average everyday people. You hear on the news and television of murders that have been gang related to innocent people just going about their day. As you might know, gangs are a huge issue all over the world.
As I further into my research, I will need to have an understanding on where on the majority of the gangs are located. I also need to have an understanding on what are the typical ages that you can be in a gang. Or what happens when you have a brother and sister that is in a gang, do you have the option to be in the gang too or are you just automatically into the gang? There are many unanswered questions that I will be researching upon in the upcoming research paper.
