Unit 3- Power of Gold
Statement of Inquiry:
At the end of the unit, students will understand that: the form of elements (such as Gold) relates to their use

What is gold?
What are some of the different properties (form) of different elements?
What are the different methods of separation?
How can be separate different substances?
What happens when we lose mass during a separating activity?
Should we mine gold?
Could we live without gold?
What answers did you discover during this unit?
We discovered the different method of separations including (filtration, crystallization, magnetism, centrifuging, distillation and gravity separation). We also learnt about the Periodic table and learn about the unit words and definition, such as particle, solute, solvent, element, compound, mixture, solution and etc.
What are the important things I have learned?
The important things that I have learned are different method of separations, the periodic table and the different scientific definitions of the different words needed to write a good method (solute, solvent, element, compound, mixture, solution etc.)
Why is this topic an important part of your learning?
This topic is an important part of my learning because it will help me in my future years of learning, when we get in more depth of the periodic table and the different definitions, this will help because we will already know the basics.
