GREEK MYTHOLOGY
The Greeks had many great mythology stories. One of their great mythologies would be the gods. The Greeks had seventeen gods. Their names were Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, Persephone, Hestia, Apollo, Artemis, Aphrodite, Eros, and Ares. Hephaestus, Herma, Dionysus, Asklepios,and, and Heracles. The Romans stole the gods from Greece. They just changed the names of the gods. Their names were Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto, Juno, Ceres, Proserpina, Vesta, Apollo (did not change), Diana, Venus, Cupid, Mars, Vulcan, Mercury, Bacchus, Aesulapius, and Hercules. The men were called gods and the women were called goddess. According to mythology they looked and acted like humans. They laughed, loved, fought and married each other. They lived forever because a fluid called ichor, not blood, flowed through their veins. The mightiest of gods lived on Olympus, a mountain really high in the air. It was covered by clouds. They ate ambrosia and nectar, the food and drink of the gods. When ever they wished they could change their shape and size. They can go down to earth to blend in with the mortals. They can give them magical gifts, but not take them back.
Zeus is the king of all gods. He is the god of he is the god of heaven and earth. He is the son of Cronus and Rhea. He can easily change his shape and change the weather. He can make thunder bolts. He moved the sun and moon. He made beautiful constellations in the sky. He protected everyone. Zeus’s first wife was Metis, but he made Hera his queen. Zeus had many other wives. They were goddess, nypths, and even mortals. He had many children too. Hera was jealous of all of his wives. Zeus and Tisanes Mnemosyne, one of his wives, had the nine muses. Their names were Erato (muse of lyrics), Euterpe (muse of music), Thalia (muse of comedy), Melpomene (muse of tragedy), Terpichore (muse of dance), Urania (muse of astronomy), Clio (muse of history), Polyhymina (muse of Hymns), and Calliope (muse of epics).
