CONTRACT AGREEMENT
Extension of Contract Agreement of 2nd day of November, 2006 to the Channel Maintenance Dredging Works 2007-2008.
This Contract Agreement is made this 29th day of August, 2007 at Port Qasim, between the PORT QASIM AUTHORITY Karachi Pakistan, an Authority established under the PQA Act, 1973 (hereinafter called “the Employer,” which expression shall include the successors in interest, the attorneys and assigns) of the one part
and M/s. DREDGING INTERNATIONAL N.V. a company incorporated under the laws of Belgium having registered office at haven – 25 Scheldedijk 30, Zwijndrecht, Belgium, through their attorney Mr. Jan mark VAN MASTWIJK – Area Manager, Breedveldsingel 12, NL-3055 PK, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, vide power attorney dated 14th June 2007 duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs vide no. 07.06.049 dated 19th June 2007 (hereinafter called “the Contractor,” which expression shall include the successors in interest, the attorneys and assigns) of the other part, for extension of the Contract Agreement of 2 November 2006 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘said Contract Agreement”) between the Employer and the Contractor for the Channel Maintenance Dredging Works 2007-2008.
WHEREAS the Employer intends to award a second year dredging campaign 2007-2008 to the Contractor as an extension on the maintenance dredging campaign 2006-2007, as mentioned under Para-14 of Appendix to the said Contract Agreement.
AND WHEEAS the Employer has exercised the option of award of the Channel Maintenance Dredging Works 2007-2008 at Port Qasim vide Extension of Contract – Letter of Intent No. PQA/DGM/CD/07/07 dated 20 July 2007, accepted by the Contractor vide letter reference no. 2007-040-L-PK dated 17th August, 2007, for the survey, execution and completion of said works.
