Economics and Marketing
The meeting that was presented today was very meaningful. The meeting was a very rewarding experience, because it really taught me what economics and Marketing entail in there everyday jobs. These jobs are very different than what I have ever expected. I’m sure these descriptions of what the jobs entail will come to the surprise of many others, also. That right there will tell you to never prejudge something, or you could get a very stereotypical image in your mind. Both of these jobs could reward you in a way that you couldn’t have expected.
The economics speaker had spoken of how valuable their major is in society. The speaker had said that all things in today’s economy are covered in economics. She had said that if you don’t major in economics, then to at least take some classes in economics because those classes will be very useful in understanding the economy. She had said that economics is a very valuable major to have in the future and that the salary is a very good incentive, but shouldn’t be the basis of your choice.
The marketing speaker had said that marketing is not only a fun, but is very useful major. The speaker has explained that marketing could be described as an ongoing process of planning and executing the marketing mix for products, services or ideas to create exchange between individuals and organizations. He had spoken of how it is very fun and you can also use your creative side in this major. He says it combines fun with business.
Overall, this meeting was a very valuable experience. It taught me that these degrees involve something much different than what I ever expected. This meeting will benefit me in the future of business and my decision on what I want to grow into as my career. I have been thinking about a different degree, but this meeting has shown me that you cannot believe you have you mind set 100% on one major.
