Fracking is a slang term for hydraulic fracturing, so Fracking refers to the procedure of creating fractures in rocks and rock formations by injecting fluid into cracks to force them further open. As you read, you will realize the good and the bad of Fracking.
Some reasons why you may think Fracking is bad: Fracking can cause pollution in the water underground. That water is connected to the faucets of people’s homes, so that makes it hard for the people to wash their hands, drink water, take showers, and possibly water their gardens. It’s hard for them because they’re chemicals that kills, are flammable, and can make your skin very dry! Fracking effects the environment and wildlife. All the natural gases get into the water and you know water can go anywhere; well it can go into lakes, rivers, swamps, streams, and creeks. It affects the fish, the deer, birds, almost any animals and plants there is because they drink and need water, life in the water, and possibly clean themselves off with that water just to survive. Then it goes messing up their lives, and then possibly could go extinct.
Reasons why you may think Fracking can be a good thing: First off, you can sell your land to the business that does the Fracking. They usually give you about $100,000 just to try the area!
