Introduction
Atwood and Allen Consulting have created a Performance Management Plan (PMP) specifically for Landslide Limousines. The PMP will align with Landslide Limousines business strategy to ensure the business is successful. The PMP includes an organizational performance philosophy and job analysis that will help Landslide Limousines define the skills needed by employees. It also will outline a method to measure an employee’s skill and a process for addressing skill gaps. Finally, the PMP will conclude will an approach for delivering effective performance feedback.
Performance Management Framework
Performance appraisals are one of the most important aspects of performance management. Performance appraisals play a vital role in employee’s professional development and ensuring they contribute to meet company goals. Performance appraisals will help Landslide Limousines make decisions on what skills employees’ need additional training on and identify potential organizational problems. Performance appraisals need to consist of, direct supervisor appraisals of employees, self-appraisals from employees and customer feedback to evaluate each employee’s performance. Direct supervisor appraisals are necessary because the supervisors will be the most familiar with the employee’s performance. Self-appraisals gives employees a chance to be a part of the appraisal process and review their performance how they see it. Lastly customer feedback will provide Landslide Limousine with valuable input that can aid in employment decisions, such as promotions, demotions, transfers and training needs (Cascio, 2013).
