I have learned a great deal of information about different races and ethnicities in the United States. Mostly I have learned about the culture and origin from the groups that were in the material reading. Doing the assignments that allowed us to research other groups really opened my eyes about some of their hardships coming to America to live the “American Dream”. Although, I am not really anything but Caucasian, I do have Irish American in me. Researching about my cultural history broke my heart realizing the obstacles my family members had to go through. I knew about the potato famine and that was the main reason people came to America, but I had no idea the judgment and prejudice they would have to face. I cannot truly predict what the faces will look like 2050, but I don’t believe trends are going to be the only reason the will be change in the faces. Just looking at the problems today, such as environmental issues, the issues will make the human face become weaker. If we continue at the rate that we do now that pollutes the air and use our resources up there either won’t be a generation in 2050 or humans will be suffering. Illegal immigration is also a huge problem that can affect the face of 2050. America won’t have a majority of Caucasian individuals but more of a majority of the illegal aliens. Either way I definitely believe that there will some sort of change. There is no way of predicting the future.
