Fences is a great story based on a family struggle and time during the 1960s. Troy Maxson the main character is angry at life outcome for him and his family. He has so much negativity toward a lot of things. If this story were based on today’s society Troy would not feel the way that he does. He would have a better paying job, he would not think sports and his career was about race, and his respect for people around him would be better. The era for Troy was not for his liking, but he worked hard to make a better life for his family.

Troy and his family would be living pretty well in this era. He is a hard worker and is being treated like a lower class worker in the 1950s. Troy would be in the top of his working class earning triple as much as he did in the 1950s. Troy would’ve had a better education, and better living for him and his family.
Sports are what keep a lot of households talking. Troy disliked sports and its racial ways in the 1950s. He feels that he was robbed of a chance of playing in the Major Leagues was due to his race. If Troy was living in this era his outcome of sports and his career would have been totally different. He would know the reason why he didn’t make the major leagues was because of his age not race at all. Racism barely happens during this era so he would’ve not made the team because of his own ability. Racism constantly happens, but not close to how it use to be.
Troy has anger issues and is very disrespectful to the people around him. He treats everyone like crap and his behavior is very horrible. His reason is because of the struggle and work he distributed. Troy was a hard working man, but he feel he is working too hard to get where the white man gets at half the work. Troy would take a different outcome of how he treated others if he...
