Probably the first thing which comes up in everyone’s mind when they hear something about firearms is about gangs, crimes, violence and so on. Nowadays, there are a lot of gangs, and most of the members of these gangs are having a gun on them. They are considered to be very dangerous because most of them are using the guns to rob people, and in some cases they even kill people by using their guns. The reasons why some people, especially teenagers, choose to join a gang is that there might be either a lack of funding or lack of family support, and they choose to join the gangs, hoping that their lives will change. But, that’s completely wrong, because people are dying, and there is no one to stop the use of those firearms. A recent research says that in Britain, there are around 58 murders a year by firearms and in US around 8,775 murders.
Firearms have become very popular. They are being promoted in different ways, such as television, video games, posters and even toys. There are toys made for kids, and they are meant to play with them, but the people do not realise that these toys have a violent influence on kids. They grow up playing with gun toys, and they start to believe that having a gun is completely normal. Firearms should not be promoted in any way, because they represent a threat.
On the other hand firearms are a right in a survival situation. For example, people living in Alaska. They all need guns in order to survive. They need them to hunt their food like deer, elk, rabbits, and so on. They also need the guns for security. Some parts of Alaska have the biggest amount of population of bears in the world, and every year, people are dying because they get killed by bears.
