First to get the career I want I have to work hard. It’s not just any ordinary job where u sign an application get an interview and then get the job. Requirements are made to be a fireman. One of the main reasons you need to work hard is because you need to be a high school graduate. Many people’s dreams and goals are destroyed because they messed up in high school.
Minimum requirements to get a firemen position is to be a high school graduate, be the required age by state and being in good physical condition. If these requirements are surpassed it is more likely to get a position. Also you will need at least 1 year worth of first aid training. To get An “A” on the requirements it would help to be involved in your community. Such as volunteer work, and especially volunteer firefighting is a great way to demonstrate community interest. The salary for this job isn’t too bad for saving lives and what not. Can’t be a millionaire in one year like a baseball player but it’s a good average earning. He says he has been to accidents where he had to unwrap the metal around a person while you watch them agonizing in pain. “When you see something as serious as that it hits you hard” said Mike Smyrl. To run through a fire trying to save someone is different from watching someone scream in pain knowing you can’t save them.
